Quote Of The Day

Quote Of The Day

All my life I grew up in secular cities, and I raised my children in secular cities. All my children are thank God God-fearing and learn Torah - in the merit of having grown up in secular cities! Specifically because of the need to deal with a different atmosphere, and understanding the importance of living in such a city, that gives the spiritual and Torah strength...

--- Chief Rabbi of Holon Avraham Yosef

Rav Yosef said this at a haschnassat sefer torah ceremony at the Yeshivat Hesder of Holon

  1. This is fine (perhaps) as long as the seculars don't try to stop a religious resident from wearing/eating/doing any of his religious requirements.... not what they're doing in Modiin

  3. " not what they're doing in Modiin"

It should be pointed out, here and now, that the report quoted by Neshama is

    T H R E E Y E A R S O L D.

It was published on http://muqata.blogspot.com on 5 October 2008. The issue was dealt with then, appropriate conclusions were drawn and it is egregious, to say the very least to drag that boobah meiseh up - yet again.

  5. Neshama,

As opposed to chareidim trying to stop religious people from getting a Jewish education, which is going on right now in Beit Shemesh.

Of course, overcoming the opposition that the high schooler from Modiin faced probably made his Judaism stronger, not weaker.
