Quote of the Day

Empathy cannot come in the place of policy. There must be a strong middle-class of working people who pay taxes, and from these taxes we will be able to help those who do not have. No child will go hungry in the State of Israel, as long as we are here.
This is a budget of hope. It is true that there are budget cuts and an increase in taxes. But it will be for a short amount of time. There is a problem, and we must fix it. It is a short thing  It will come, it will hurt, and it will go. Within two years every Israeli will feel the change - in housing, in sharing the burden, in cost of living, and in the feeling that he lives in a fair country that relates to its money with reverence and does not just give it to sectors and people close to the plate..

  1. I wish him good luck. Bibi tried the same thing when he had the job, and they drank his blood, and the Likud only got 12 seats in the next election. So for anyone wanting to get rid of Lapid, this is good news. However if he does not succeed, all will suffer. However if he succeeds, we will all reap the benifits, but he might end up as Prime Minister

  2. that is true, but I would add that if he will be successful, maybe he will deserve to be prime minister!

  3. It makes me nervous when someone says the taxes will be high now but lower later. I don't think that has ever happened in a short period of time in the history of government :)
